• Account Information: Your name and email address when you create an account.
• Location Data: Approximate location (device GPS or IP-based) used solely to fetch local weather data for watering alerts.
• Garden Content: Garden plans, saved plants, project notes, and any photos you upload (plant identification, progress galleries, etc.).
• Preferences: Hardiness zone, soil type, sunlight availability, and aesthetic preferences you set in the app.
• Payment Information: Subscription transactions are processed by Stripe. We do not store your full card details — only transaction records provided by Stripe.

• To create and manage your account.
• To fetch weather data and generate smart watering alerts tailored to your area.
• To identify plants from photos you submit using AI-powered image analysis.
• To save and display your garden plans, notes, and saved plants.
• To personalize recommendations based on your zone and preferences.
• To process subscription payments and manage your Pro access.
• To communicate with you about your account, support requests, and service updates.

When you use plant identification or diagnosis features, photos you submit are sent to our AI service for analysis. Results are displayed to you and may be saved with your project notes if you choose to keep them. We do not use your uploaded photos to train external AI models.

We use trusted third-party services to operate the app:

• Stripe — processes subscription payments securely (see Stripe's Privacy Policy).
• Weather Providers — supply local forecast data based on your location.
• AI Service Providers — analyze photos and text for plant identification and diagnosis.

We never sell your personal data or garden content to third parties.

We use industry-standard security measures to protect your data, including encrypted data storage and secure authentication. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. You can request account deletion at any time from Settings → Delete Account. Upon request, your account and all associated data (garden plans, saved plants, notes, photos, and preferences) will be permanently removed within 30 days.

Depending on your location (e.g., California, EU/EEA, UK), you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data. To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the information below.

Garden Companion is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by posting the updated policy within the app. Your continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
